ST. JOE ISLAND

ST. JOE ISLAND - PORT ARANSAS, TX

St. Joe island is a privately owned barrier island just north of Port Aransas, TX and the Port Aransas Jetty (or South Jetty).  The Jetty can be accessed by boat or by a daily ferry that goes to St. Joe's several times a day from Port Aransas.  There are no services on the island, so you must bring all supplies with you and carry them the +/- 100 yards to the beach from the ferry dock.
When the prevelant SE and ESE winds are howling and the South Jetty area is a choppy mess, you can find glassy riding conditions here and with the correct swell you may run into some of the best kitesurfing conditions in the state.  But beware, help could be a long way off, so prepare accordingly, and have fun.

What Our Students Are Saying

Sean L. (Facebook) - Tom was an Awesome instructor! He made everything easy to understand when I was learning. Can't wait to take my next lesson!
Olga & Travis M. (Trip Advisor) - My husband and I had a great experience with the staff of 361 Kite in Corpus Christi when taking first time kitesurf lessons in October and November of 2014. Our instructor Tom walked us through all the basic technical matters and important safety concerns before our practices. Tom really cares about the success of his students.
Thurston O. (Yelp) - Tom is an excellent instructor in teaching beginners and explaining how it works. He'll walk you through all the steps, go over all the safety, and get you out practicing in the water on the first lesson!
