OSO BAY - CORPUS CHRISTI, TX
Oso bay, which is next to the Texas A&M campus, is a shallow water bay that connects Oso Creek and other inland tributaries to the Corpus Christi Bay. Solid wind throughout the year with multiple directions to ride and a large flat water area protected by a long sandbar upwind. Best wind direction is SE (or ESE or SSE are good as well) during the spring, summer, and fall months. Winter brings the North winds which can also be ridden at Oso Bay as well depending on direction. Launch on the small beach just past the A&M campus going towards the Naval Base, water is ankle to thigh deep throughout the bay, but mostly in the knee-thigh range in the normal riding area. Bottom is variable, but mostly soft silt/ sand with normal bottom hazards (shells, trash, etc.), booties are recommended but many ride without here.
