ROCKPORT BEACH

ROCKPORT BEACH - ROCKPORT, TX

*****CURRENTLY KITEBOARDING IS RESTRICTED AT ROCKPORT BEACH AND LITTLE BAY FOR A PORTION OF THE YEAR***  Rockport beach is one of the nicest and most well kept beaches in the South Texas area, if not the whole state of Texas.  Many amenities are offered here at Rockport beach such as showers, gazebos,  grassy play areas w/ jungle gyms, and bbq pits. The majority of Rockport beach is a pay access beach with day use of about $5/day or $15/season,but there is a public area just before the entrance where you can access the beach side or the ski canal (Little Bay) area.
Rockport beach wind conditions on average are usually less than the launch sites located in Corpus Christi and Portland, but when the normal launch sites are blown out over +20 mph and up is when Rockport really shines giving rid-able winds on the shallow beach side (thigh to waist deep for hundreds of yards out) as well as providing some of the best flat water conditions in the area at Little Bay just behind the beach.
Please be careful as the Little Bay area is deep throughout and overhead, so experienced riders only allowed.  Also, this area is mainly a ski basin for boats, and while kiteboarding in the ski basin is tolerated, because of recent incidences involving thoughtless kiteboarders the access has been restricted to a smaller launch area.

What Our Students Are Saying

Sean L. (Facebook) - Tom was an Awesome instructor! He made everything easy to understand when I was learning. Can't wait to take my next lesson!
Olga & Travis M. (Trip Advisor) - My husband and I had a great experience with the staff of 361 Kite in Corpus Christi when taking first time kitesurf lessons in October and November of 2014. Our instructor Tom walked us through all the basic technical matters and important safety concerns before our practices. Tom really cares about the success of his students.
Thurston O. (Yelp) - Tom is an excellent instructor in teaching beginners and explaining how it works. He'll walk you through all the steps, go over all the safety, and get you out practicing in the water on the first lesson!
